Medical Description

Fludot 0.5mg injection is primarily used for reversing the sedative effects of benzodiazepines (anaesthetic class) after surgery or any other medical procedure which was performed under the anaesthetising effects of benzodiazepines. It consists of an active ingredient called Flumazenil. Flumazenil hastens the recovery from anaesthesia after minor surgical operations and reduces the post-operative monitoring period, allowing patients to be discharged sooner. Fludot 0.5mg injection is an antidote that can also be used in the management of Benzodiazepine overdose. It can help you get out of a coma caused by a benzodiazepine overdose. Fludot 0.5mg injection is given under the supervision of a registered doctor. Make sure you report to your doctor before taking this injection, if you have any known allergy to it. The action of this medicine can be seen within 1 to 2 minutes of the dose being administered.

How Does It Work?

Fludot 0.5mg injection works by reversing the sedative effects of benzodiazepines. The active component- Flumazenil inhibits activity at the Benzodiazepine recognition site (receptor of Benzodiazepine where Benzodiazepines bind and exert their actions) by acting as a competitive inhibitor which basically means that it inhibits the activity of Benzodiazepine by preventing it from binding to its receptor in the first place.
