Fixime-200 tablet It is an antibiotic medicine, used to treat various types of bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, lungs, urinary tract, stomach and reproductive tract. It contains cefixim

e as its main component. Cefixime inhibits the formation of the cell wall and kill the various susceptible bacterial organisms. Take this medicine as prescribed and for the prescribed duration. Always complete the course of the treatment, as incomplete treatment may result in treatment failure. Fixime-200 tablet is used for the treatment of bacterial infection caused by various susceptible bacterial organisms mainly of the ear, nose, urinary tract, throat, chest and lungs.

Contraindications of Fixime 200 MG

If you are allergic to Cefixime or any other Cephalosporin antibiotics including Penicillin or any other ingredient of the Fixime-200 tablet

Pregnancy

Can I take the Fixime-200 tablet during pregnancy?

You should consult your doctor before using the Fixime-200 tablet as there is limited information about its safety during pregnancy. Your doctor will only prescribe you this medicine if considered essential after assessing if the benefits to women overweigh the risk to the foetus.

Breast Feeding

Can I take the Fixime-200 tablet while breastfeeding?

It is unknown if Cefixime passes into the breastmilk, thus it is advised to discontinue nursing temporarily if you are treated with the Fixime-200 tablet. Please consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed the Fixime-200 tablet?

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way the Fixime-200 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
Fixime-200 tablet when used concomitantly with the blood thinner such as warfarin may enhance effects of the anti-clot medicine, thus the prolong clotting time and can cause bleeding.
Alcohol or medicines containing alcohol as a component along with cefixime or other cephalosporins can cause adverse effects like sweating, headache, increased heartbeat, redness of the skin.

Store the Fixime-200 tablets at or below 25°C.
