Description

Erose Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat infections caused by the bacteria, such as infections of the lungs, airways, throat, ear, intestine, reproductive tract, urinary tract and skin infections.

It contains erythromycin as its active substance that belongs to the macrolide class of antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria, thereby preventing the spread of infection. Take this Tablet as prescribed by your doctor and for the exact prescribed duration. You should take this medicine with or after food to avoid stomach upset. You should always complete the prescribed course of the treatment. Incomplete treatment may result in treatment failure, increased risk of re-infection or developing antibiotic resistance. While on this medicine, you may experience side effects like diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and headache. If you feel the side effects persist or your condition worsens, you should contact your doctor immediately.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to erythromycin or any other ingredients of Erose Tablet.
If you are already taking other blood pressure-lowering medicines or medicines for migraine such as ergotamine, etc.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Erose Tablet while breastfeeding?

Components of the Erose Tablet pass into the breastmilk, thus, you should contact your doctor before using it while breastfeeding. If prescribed, monitor your baby closely for irritability, diarrhoea, fungal infection and diaper rash.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Erose Tablet?

Erose Tablet does not affect your ability to drive.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Erose Tablet?

Alcohol might delay the absorption of the Erose Tablet. Thus, you should limit the consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You have or had liver or kidney disease.
You experience persistent diarrhoea even after stopping the treatment with this medicine.
You have heart-related diseases such as irregular heart rate.
You have myasthenia gravis characterised by muscle weakness.
You have any other medical condition and are on medication.
Erose Tablets should not be used by children below 2 years of age.
