Mode of Action of Eliquis 2.5 MG
How Does It Work?
Eliquis tablet contains apixaban which works directly on the active site inhibition of Fxa. This inhibition decreases the generation f thrombin and thrombus, preventing clots' formation.
Directions for Use of Eliquis 2.5 MG
- Take this medication in the dose and for the duration as advised by your doctor
- Do not chew, crush or break the tablet in half
- Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water
- Take it with or without food as advised by your doctor
Interactions of Eliquis 2.5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Avoid using this medication if you are prescribed NSAIDs
- This medication should not be used along with other anticoagulants
- Using this medication with antifungals can increase the chances of bleeding
- The effect of apixaban can be decreased when used with rifampin, phenytoin and carbamazepine
- Concomitant use of strong inducers of CYP3A4 reduces blood levels of apixaban
- Concomitant use of strong dual inhibitors of CYP3A4 increases blood levels of apixaban

Do not use this medication if you have acute/active bleeding.
