How Does It Work?

Eliquis tablet contains apixaban which works directly on the active site inhibition of Fxa. This inhibition decreases the generation f thrombin and thrombus, preventing clots' formation.

Interactions with other medicines

  • Avoid using this medication if you are prescribed NSAIDs
  • This medication should not be used along with other anticoagulants

  • The effect of apixaban can be decreased when used with rifampin, phenytoin and carbamazepine
  • Concomitant use of strong inducers of CYP3A4 reduces blood levels of apixaban
  • Concomitant use of strong dual inhibitors of CYP3A4 increases blood levels of apixaban
