Duoflam Suspension is pain and fever-reducing medicine. It contains a combination of mefenamic acid and paracetamol as its active ingredients. It is used for the relief of the symptoms of mild to mod
erate pain such as muscle and joint pain, headache, migraine and tooth pain. It is also used to relieve pain due to sports injury, sprain and strain. Before starting with Duoflam Suspension, inform your doctor about all other medicines, herbal preparations and over-the-counter medicines you are taking. Also inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Taking more than the daily dose of this medicine may cause serious liver damage or allergic reactions like swelling of the face, mouth & throat, difficulty breathing, itching or rash. Duoflam Suspension should not be used for managing pain before, during and after coronary bypass surgery.

Uses
- Duoflam Suspension is used for symptomatic relief of mild-to-moderate pain in headache, migraine, toothache, muscle and joint ache, and backache.
- It is also used to relieve pain such as traumatic pain, pain due to sprain and strain and pain after surgeries and operations.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to mefenamic acid, paracetamol, or any of the ingredients of Duoflam Suspension.
- If you have asthma or experienced an asthmatic attack due to painkillers.
- If you are suffering from inflammation in the digestive tract.
- If you have or had stomach ulcers.
- If you are pregnant.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Duoflam Suspension contains a combination of mefenamic acid and paracetamol as its active ingredients.
- Mefenamic acid and paracetamol are non steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSADIs). They work by preventing prostaglandin synthesis, a chemical responsible for pain, inflammation and swelling.
Directions for Use
- Take Duoflam Suspension as instructed by your doctor.
- Shake well before use.
- Do not consume it directly from the bottle.
- Use a measuring cup, spoon or dropper for the exact quantity.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Duoflam Suspension works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines used to treat nausea or vomiting like metoclopramide or domperidone and medicines used to treat bacterial infections like chloramphenicol.
- Medicines used to thin blood such as warfarin should be used with caution, as there are chances of increased bleeding upon long-term use.
- Anti-platelet medicines such as aspirin or clopidogrel, steroids and painkillers, when taken along with this medicine, can induce stomach or intestinal bleeding.
- Antidiabetic medicines, if taken along with Duoflam Suspension, can lead to low blood sugar levels.
- Cholesterol-lowering medicines like cholestyramine should be taken with a minimum gap of 2 hours.
- Duoflam Suspension should not be taken for 8 to 12 days after taking a medicine called mifepristone.
- Digoxin used to treat heart failure should not be taken along with this medicine.
- Medicines used to lower blood pressure such as water pills, immunomodulator medicines such as tacrolimus and ciclosporin and certain antibiotics should be used cautiously.

- Store Duoflam Suspension at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
- Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
