Medical Description

Dinax Plus gel is used for temporary relief of localised muscle aches, strains, sprains, back pain and mild rheumatic or arthritic joint pain. It contains aceclofenac, a pain and inflammation reliever, with capsaicin, linseed oil, menthol, methyl salicylate and benzyl alcohol as formulation ingredients. Aceclofenac reduces pain and swelling, while capsaicin alters local pain signalling and menthol and methyl salicylate provide cooling or warming sensations. Dinax Plus gel is applied to clean, unbroken skin and is for external use only.

How does this medicine work?

The aceclofenac component reduces the formation of substances that cause pain, swelling and inflammation. Capsaicin gradually reduces the ability of local nerve endings to send pain signals. Menthol produces a cooling sensation, while methyl salicylate provides a warming counter-irritant effect. Linseed oil and benzyl alcohol are also present as formulation ingredients.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

No specific medicine interactions are known. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, mention other pain relievers or anti-inflammatory gels being used on the same area.
