Directions for Use

  • Dapaglyn M tablet contains dapagliflozin and metformin as its active ingredients.
  • Dapagliflozin blocks a specific protein in the kidneys called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2), which is responsible for reabsorbing glucose (sugar) from the urine back into the blood. This leads to the removal of sugar through urine, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.
  • Metformin reduces the production of glucose and also decreases its absorption in the body.
  • As a result, blood sugar levels are lowered, helping to control Type 2 diabetes.

Storage and disposal

  • Store in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

You should never miss your blood sugar medicines as it may lead to high blood sugar and symptoms associated with it. However, if you missed any dose of the medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

  • Dapaglyn M tablet contains dapagliflozin and metformin as its active ingredients.
  • Dapagliflozin blocks a certain protein in the kidneys called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2) that is responsible for the reabsorption of glucose (sugar) from the urine into the blood. This causes the removal of sugar through the urine, thereby reducing the level of blood sugar.
  • Metformin decreases the production of glucose and also reduces its absorption in the body.
  • As a result, the level of blood sugar is reduced, which helps to control Type 2 diabetes.

  • Particular care should be taken when using medicines to treat tuberculosis (rifampicin), high/abnormal cholesterol (simvastatin), immune system alteration (glucocorticoids), pain and fever (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines like ibuprofen, rofecoxib), and high blood pressure (furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, ramipril, losartan).
