Cortel Trio Tablet
Description
Cortel Trio Tablet is a prescription medicine used for the management of high blood pressure (hypertension). It combines three effective medicines: Amlodipine, Telmisartan, and Hydrochlorothiazide, which work together to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of serious complications such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems. By controlling high blood pressure, this medicine helps protect your heart and overall health in the long run.
The three ingredients in Cortel Trio Tablet work in different but complementary ways. Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels, while Telmisartan prevents the tightening of blood vessels by blocking a hormone called angiotensin II. Hydrochlorothiazide helps the body remove excess salt and water through urine. Together, they make the heart’s work easier and improve blood flow, which helps in better blood pressure control.
You should take Cortel Trio Tablet exactly as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food, but for optimal control, it is best to take it at the same time every day. Do not stop taking the medicine suddenly, even if you feel well, as uncontrolled blood pressure can silently damage your body. Always follow the prescribed dose and never exceed the recommended amount.
Lifestyle changes are crucial when taking the Cortel Trio Tablet. Eating a healthy diet low in salt and fat, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy body weight, avoiding smoking, and limiting alcohol intake can all improve the effectiveness of this medicine. Combining medication with these changes can help you achieve better and long-term blood pressure control.
Before starting the Cortel Trio Tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding, as this medicine may not be suitable in such conditions. Also, be sure to inform your doctor about all other medications or supplements you are taking, as some may interact with Cortel Trio. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and kidney function is important to ensure safe and effective treatment.
