How Does It Work?

Cloxacillin causes inhibition of bacterial beta-lactamase, which controls infection. Amoxicillin stops the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, which leads to their death.

  • Bicil 250/250 tablet should be taken orally as directed by the physician

Interactions with other medicines

  • The use of amoxicillin and probenecid can cause an increased effect of amoxicillin in blood
  • Amoxicillin and oral anticoagulants can increase Prothrombin Time ( A clotting marker)
  • Concomitant use of allopurinol and amoxicillin can cause rashes
  • Amoxicillin may reduce the effect of oral contraceptives
  • Cloxacillin and methotrexate should be used with caution when given together
