Medical Description

Arya lotion is a moisturising skin-care product used to help relieve dryness and support comfort in selected skin conditions such as eczema, nappy rash, superficial abrasions and fissures. It contains aloe vera, allantoin, propylene glycol and glycerin. Glycerin and propylene glycol attract water, while aloe vera and allantoin help condition and soothe the skin surface. Apply the lotion externally to clean skin as directed; it is not a substitute for treatment of a spreading or infected skin problem.

Uses

  • Dry skin: The lotion replenishes surface moisture, softening rough, tight areas and improving comfort when everyday dryness causes itching or discomfort.
  • Eczema-related dryness: Aloe vera, allantoin and moisturising ingredients may soothe and soften dry, irritated skin, but worsening inflammation needs review.
  • Age-related itching: Moisturising the skin may reduce discomfort linked with dryness in older adults; persistent itching needs assessment for another cause.
  • Nappy rash: The lotion may protect and moisturise mildly irritated skin, but a baby with spreading rash, pain or discharge needs medical advice.
  • Abrasions and fissures: The lotion may soften and comfort superficial dry cracks or minor grazes, but it should not replace care for deep or infected wounds.
  • Nipple dryness or fissures: It may moisturise cracked skin, while suspected nipple infection requires assessment rather than self-treatment.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to any ingredient of this product, do not use it. Do not apply Arya lotion to the eyes, mouth or a deep, infected or extensively broken area unless a healthcare professional advises it. Stop use if a previous application caused a significant reaction.

Side effects

  • Skin irritation: Propylene glycol or botanical ingredients may cause redness or stinging in sensitive skin; wash it off and stop if irritation persists.
  • Allergic rash: Itching, swelling or a new rash may indicate sensitivity; get emergency medical help for breathing difficulty or swelling of the face, lips or throat.

Precautions and Warnings

Pregnancy

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or could become pregnant, ask your doctor before use. Absorption from the skin may be limited, but the complete formulation should still be reviewed.

Breast Feeding

Breast Feeding

Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding. Do not apply Arya lotion to the nipple or breast immediately before feeding, and prevent the baby from contacting treated skin.

Directions for Use

For external use only. Shake well before use, then apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin as advised. Wash your hands before and after application, keep the lotion away from the eyes and mouth, and do not cover the area with an airtight dressing unless advised.

Storage and disposal

Keep Arya lotion in its original, tightly closed pack in a cool, dry place protected from light. Keep it out of children's reach. Do not use it after expiry or if the pack is damaged, and ask a pharmacist how to dispose of unused lotion.

Quick Tips

  • Use Arya lotion only for the skin purpose advised by your healthcare professional.
  • Shake the bottle well and apply it gently rather than rubbing sore skin.
  • Keep it away from the eyes, mouth, deep wounds and infected areas.
  • Ask a clinician before using it on a baby with a spreading or painful rash.
  • Do not share the bottle between people or use it to delay assessment of infection.
  • Stop and seek advice if redness, pain, swelling, discharge or irritation worsens.

Dosage

Overdose

If you think you have used too much of this product, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you miss an application, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one. Do not apply extra product to make up for it.

How does this medicine work?

The glycerin and propylene glycol attract and retain water at the skin surface, helping soften dry skin. The aloe vera and allantoin are skin-conditioning ingredients that may soothe discomfort and support a smoother skin surface. The lotion works locally where it is applied and does not treat every cause of itching, eczema or infection.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

No specific medicine interactions are known. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. Mention any other cream or lotion applied to the same area because combined products may increase irritation.
