Medical Description
Amlopin Plus tablet is used to treat both high blood pressure and high cholesterol in people who need control of both conditions. It helps reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other heart-related problems by lowering cholesterol and easing the workload on the heart.
It contains two main ingredients: atorvastatin and amlodipine. Atorvastatin lowers bad cholesterol and fats while raising good cholesterol. Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, helping the heart pump more easily and reducing blood pressure and chest pain.
You should not take this medicine if you are allergic to its ingredients, have liver disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or could become pregnant without reliable contraception. Common side effects may include headache, dizziness, stomach discomfort, weakness, or nausea.
Avoid grapefruit juice and let your doctor know about any other medicines you are taking, including antibiotics, antifungals, or drugs for your immune system. Some medications can increase the side effects or reduce the effectiveness of this medicine.
Take the medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes, preferably with or without food, and at the same time every day. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not take extra to make up for a missed one. Store it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and out of reach of children.
