Medical Description

Amitril 25 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of depression as well as other ailments like nerve pain and migraines. It improves mood by raising the quantities of chemical substances in the brain. It also blocks the transmission of pain impulses, which lowers nervous discomfort. Amitril 25 mg Tablet should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip doses or stop treatment without visiting your doctor, as this could result in withdrawal symptoms like exhaustion, sleep difficulties, irritability, and more. A gradual dose reduction under the supervision of your doctor is essential to avoid them. Before using Amitril 25 mg Tablet, inform your doctor if you have liver issues, diabetes, or a history of seizures (fits caused by abnormal brain activity) or glaucoma (an eye illness caused by elevated pressure within the eyeballs). Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Amitriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, is the active component of Amitril Tablet. It has sedative and anticholinergic effects. It blocks the absorption of neurotransmitters, noradrenaline and serotonin, found at our brain's nerve terminals, and hence their deactivation. The activity of monoamine neurotransmitters is amplified by preventing reuptake. This appears to be related to antidepressant activity and aids in mood regulation. It also reduces neuropathic pain by blocking the transfer of pain signals from neurons to the brain (pain from damaged nerves).
