- Amitril 25 mg Tablet is used in,
- Treatment of depression
- Treatment of neuropathic pain
- Treatment of migraine
Contraindications
- If you have an allergy to the active and inactive components of Amitril 25 mg Tablet.
- If you have used MAOIs in the last 14 days.
- If you have recently had a heart attack.
- If you have a serious liver problem.

Other General Warnings
- You have hypotension. Amitril 25 mg Tablet should be used with caution because it may raise the risk of low blood pressure.
- You experience a change in mood and behaviour or self-harmful and suicidal tendencies Amitril 25 mg Tablet.
- You experience withdrawal symptoms such as headache, weakness, weariness, sleep difficulties, and irritability. Do not abruptly stop taking Amitril Tab. The doctor will taper the dose over time.
- You notice any symptoms of allergy such as a skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), acute dizziness, difficulty breathing, and so on, after taking Amitril Tab.
- Amitril 25 mg Tablet should not be administered to children under the age of 18 for the treatment of depression, neuropathic pain, or migraine due to a lack of data on safety and efficacy.
- Amitril 25 mg Tablet should be taken with caution in older people because of the increased risk of side effects. Depending on the clinical situation, appropriate dose changes may be required.
Directions for Use
- Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and duration of Amitril 25 mg Tablet.
- Swallow Amitril 25 mg Tablet as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it.
- Amitril 25 mg Tablet can be taken with or without food.
- For optimal pharmacological effects, take Amitril 25 mg Tablet at the same time every day.
- Do not alter the dose of Amitril 25 mg Tablet without consulting your doctor.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- If you are taking cisapride with Amitril 25 mg Tablet, you may need a dose modification and clinical safety monitoring. Palpitation, a change in pulse rate, dizziness, and excessive sweating are all signs of a cardiac problem that should be addressed immediately.
- If you take clozapine and Amitril together, the risk of heart problems is very high. You may need a dose change and clinical safety monitoring. Your doctor may recommend an alternative medication that may not interact with clozapine in some circumstances.
- When fluoxetine and Amitril are taken together, the chance of side effects such as tiredness, dry mouth, vision abnormalities, disorientation, and others is very high. Your doctor may prescribe an alternative medicine.
- When linezolid and Amitril 25 mg Tablet are taken together, the chance of side effects such as confusion, hallucinations, convulsions, and coma is very high. Before starting linezolid, your doctor may tell you to discontinue using Amitril 25 mg Tablet.
- Combining ondansetron with Amitril 25 mg Tablet increases the risk of cardiac problems. In such circumstances, appropriate dose adjustments and clinical safety monitoring may be required.
- If Amitril 25 mg Tablet and selegiline are taken together, there is a very high risk of side effects. After quitting selegiline, you should wait 14 days before starting Amitril 25 mg Tablet and vice versa. If you have symptoms like hallucinations, seizures, or changes in blood pressure, call your doctor.
Interactions with food items
- There are no known interactions of Amitril 25 mg Tablet with food. A regular diet can be continued unless advised otherwise by the doctor.
