Molecule Description

Voriconazole is a Triazole antifungal medication. It is generally used to treat severe, invasive fungal infections.

Uses of Voriconazole

To treat severe and systemic fungal infections caused by aspergillus, fusarium and candida fungus such as esophageal candidiasis infection, which may cause white patches in the mouth and throat. Other fungal infections of the skin, stomach, kidney, bladder and wounds. It is also used for the prevention of fungal infection in bone marrow transplant patients.

This medicine may cause blurred vision. Do not drive unless you feel well.


Can I consume alcohol with Voriconazole?
Drinking alcohol can increase the risk of severe liver problems.

  • Fluoride deposits in bone
  • Bone inflammation with pain

  • Prolonged Q-T interval on ECG

  • Hardening of the liver or abnormal liver function tests
  • Swelling (inflammation) of the pancreas
  • Low amount of magnesium, potassium and calcium in the blood
