When should one not use Hydrocortisone+Neomycin+Polymyxin B

• If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of Hydrocortisone+Neomycin+Polymyxin B.
• If you have a ruptured eardrum.
• If you are suffering from any untreated Herpes simplex, Herpes zoster and fungal infections.

• You develop any allergic reactions after using Hydrocortisone+Neomycin+Polymyxin B.
• You have any problems with your ears like hearing problems.
• You experience any visual problems while on treatment.
• You do not notice any improvement in your condition while using Hydrocortisone+Neomycin+Polymyxin B.
• You experience stomach cramps or prolonged or significant diarrhoea, immediately contact your doctor.
• Hydrocortisone+Neomycin+Polymyxin B should not be used in large quantities or on large areas for prolonged periods of time.
• It would be best if you do not use this medicine for any condition other than prescribed by your doctor.
• It is not recommended for use in children below the age of 2 years.
• In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.

How Does It Work?

• Hydrocortisone+Neomycin+Polymyxin B works by the combined action of its components.
• Hydrocortisone is a steroid that attaches to steroid receptors present on cells, thus reducing inflammation, swelling and redness.
• Neomycin and Polymyxin B are antibiotics that kill the bacteria by damaging their structure.

Interactions with other medicines

• Hydrocortisone+Neomycin+Polymyxin B is meant for local application on the ear and thus is less likely to interact with other medicines taken orally. However, it may interact with other topically applied medicine on the ear. Discuss with your doctor if you are already on another topical medicine.
• Medicines like atracurium, cisatracurium, pancuronium should be used with caution along with Hydrocortisone+Neomycin+Polymyxin B.

Overdose

Missed a Dose
