Molecule Description
Ebastine is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, red, itchy, and watery eyes which may be seasonal or non-seasonal. Ebastine belongs to a class of medicines called an antihistamine. It is available in the form of a tablet, suspension. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from, before starting ebastine.
Uses
- Ebastine is used to provide symptomatic relief in symptoms like runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, red, itchy, and watery eyes, hay fever associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergy rhinitis (that lasts for long term).
- It also provides relief in long term hives (urticaria)

- Some medicines can affect the way ebastine works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Especially if you are taking medicines to treat tuberculosis or are taking antibiotics, antifungals.
- Concomitant use of ebastine along with clarithromycin (antibiotic) should be avoided.
