Molecule Description
Dimenhydrinate+Cinnarizine is a combination medicine. It is used for the treatment of vertigo characterised by symptoms such as dizziness, spinning sensation, nausea and vomiting. It is an anti-vertigo medicine. Dimenhydrinate+Cinnarizine is available in the form of a tablet. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from, before starting this medicine.
Uses
Dimenhydrinate+Cinnarizine is used to provide symptomatic relief in symptoms associated with the treatment of vertigo and nausea.
Contraindications
When should one not use Dimenhydrinate+Cinnarizine
- If you are allergic to cinnarizine, dimenhydrinate or similar medicines
- If you have prostate problems or difficulty in passing urine, kidney or liver problems.
- If you have an underlying medical conditions such as glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes), fits, increased pressure in the brain (like due to a tumor) etc.
- If you have an alcohol addiction.
- If you are less than 18 years old.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Dimenhydrinate works by blocking the effect of histamine, which is responsible for other symptoms related to vertigo. A combination of these medicine helps the patients to carry on with daily activities.
- Cinnarizine works by blocking the calcium channels present in the blood vessels and thus prevents the constriction of blood vessels of the inner ear. Thus, improving the blood flow and microcirculation within the inner ear.

- Some medicines can affect the way dimenhydrinate+cinnarizine works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
- Especially, if you are taking medicines to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, high/abnormal cholesterol levels, blood thinners, strong painkillers like opioids, anti-depressants, anti-infectives, anti-diabetics, anti-asthmatics, pain killers, immunosuppressants, medicines for brain-related disorders, anti-cancer medicines etc.
- Do not take Dimenhydrinate+Cinnarizine with antibiotics such as streptomycin, gentamicin, amikacin, neomycin.
