Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
Clobetasol Propionate+Clotrimazole+Gentamicin+Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline+Tolnaftate contains five active ingredients: Clobetasol, Gentamicin, Clotrimazole, Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin) and Tolnaftate. Clobetasol is a steroid that blocks chemical messengers (prostaglandins) from causing itchy, puffy skin. Gentamicin kills the bacteria that cause skin infections. Clotrimazole and tolnaftate are antifungal medications that prevent organisms from growing on the skin. Finally, Clioquinol (iodochlorhydroxyquin) is an antibiotic that has an added antifungal activity. This treatment effectively reduces skin contamination by inhibiting the growth of microbes and fungi.
