Uses
Z Tears Plus eye drops are used to treat the allergic conditions of the eye. It decreases the redness and swelling of the eye. It also provides relief from burning and discomfort in the eyes.
Contraindications
- If you have a history of allergy to any of the component of Z Tears Plus eye drops.
- If you have heart disease, abnormal and fast heartbeats, high blood pressure, any bulges in the major blood vessels.
- If you have thyroid problems.
- If you have diabetes mellitus.
- If you are taking other medicines like monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, medicines to decreases blood pressure.
- If you have closed-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye).
- If you have the habit of wearing contact lenses.

Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if

- Z Tears Plus eye drops may discolour soft contact lenses.
- Do not use this medicine more than four times in 24 hours.
- Do not use this medicine if its colour gets changed or becomes cloudy.
Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Naphazoline and Phenylephrine are decongestants. They compress the blood vessels in the congested area of the eye, and thus they decrease the redness, swelling and excessive watering from the eyes.
- Carboxymethyl cellulose is a tear substitute. It prevents excessive dryness of the eyes and improves symptoms like burning, soreness and eye irritation. Thus, the combination of this medicine helps in treating the allergic symptoms related to the eyes....
Directions for Use
- Use Z Tears Plus eye drops as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.
- Follow all the directions carefully and do not miss any doses.
- Read the instructions on the label before usage.
- Shake well before use.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying.
- Use the exact number of drops recommended.
- After instilling the drops, close your eyes for 2-3 minutes; do not blink or squeeze.
- Avoid touching your eyes with the dropper. It must be kept clean.
- Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a napkin or tissue.
- If you are prescribed any other eye drops, you need to keep an interval of at least 5 minutes between both the drops.

Interactions with other medicines
- As Z Tears Plus eye drops are to be instilled in the eyes (topically) the chances of adverse interactions are unlikely. However, tell your doctor about any of the other medicine you are taking which includes medicine without prescription and herbal medicines as well, as these medicines may alter the effectiveness of Z Tears Plus eye drop or increase the chances of side effects....
- Especially if you are taking medicines to treat your heart problems or mental health problems are using other medicines for eye treatment.
- Inform your doctor about this medicine if you are undergoing any surgical procedure as it may interact with some anaesthetic medicines.
Storage and disposal
- Keep Z Tears Plus eye drops out of sight and reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
- Do not store above 25°C.
- Stop using the bottle 4 weeks after the first opening. This is to prevent infections.
- Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
Dosage
Overdose
If you feel you have instilled Z Tears Plus eye drops more than you should, rinse your eyes with warm water and do not put in any more drops until it is time for your next dose.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed a dose, use it as soon as possible. Do not use a double dose of Z Tears Plus eye drops just to compensate for the missed dose.
