Uvox Cr 100mg is a prescription medication. Uvox Cr 100mg is used to treat people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorder (SAD), and depression. It contains Fluvoxamine, an

antidepressant that works by raising serotonin (a chemical responsible for mental well-being) levels between nerve cells and by regulating other neurotransmitters or brain chemicals whose unbalanced levels have been linked to depression, anxiety, and OCD. This tablet comes with a boxed warning as certain patients, particularly teens and young adults, may develop suicidal impulses and thoughts after taking this tablet. Thus, it is important to be in touch with your consulting physician during your therapy. Uvox Cr 100mg takes roughly 4-6 weeks to reach its full potential. You can take these tablets with or without food. You may experience certain non-harming side effects of Uvox Cr 100mg, such as difficulty sleeping, delayed ejaculation, dry mouth, lethargy, muscle pain, and anxiety.

The continued use of the medicine during pregnancy may cause withdrawal symptoms in your infant, such as restlessness, tremors, poor feeding, and high-pitched crying. If you become pregnant while taking it, talk to your doctor. In case you've been using it regularly, don't stop taking it without consulting your doctor first.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Uvox Cr 100mg while breastfeeding?

If the mother requires Fluvoxamine, it should not be used as an excuse to stop breastfeeding. Uvox Cr 100mg is unlikely to have any major side effects. Before taking it during breastfeeding, please consult your doctor.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Uvox Cr 100mg?

Driving is not recommended during the course of Uvox Cr 100mg as it may cause motor incoordination, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion and lethargy and may affect your ability to drive or use machines.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Uvox Cr?

You should absolutely abstain from alcohol during the course of this tablet as it has dangerous side effects such as restlessness, agitation, seizures or fits, breathing difficulties, confusion, disorientation and blurring of vision can occur.

Antidepressants, particularly Selegiline, Phenelzine, Rasagiline, may cause serotonin syndrome.
Antibiotics like Linezolid can cause serotonin syndrome.
Anti-epilepsy medicines (for controlling fits) like Carbamazepine as toxic levels can be reached by co-administration with Uvox Cr 100mg tablet.
Antianginal agents like Diltiazem can result in a lower heart rate than desired.
Antimigraine medicines like Sumatriptan, where exaggerated reflexes, lethargy and incoordination can be seen.
Pimozide (used for controlling unwanted movements) may cause abnormal heartbeat in the patient.
Anti-anxiety medicines like Alprazolam and Diazepam are can lead to toxicity.
