Medical Description
Tyrodin cream is a skin depigmenting agent used to treat brownish to greyish patches of pigmentation, usually on the face called melasma. It is a combination medicine containing tranexamic acid, kojic acid, arbutin, magnesium, mulberry extract and Vitamin E as active substances that decrease the hyperpigmentation of the skin. Tyrodin cream is meant for external application only. You should use this cream exactly as recommended by the doctor. Do not use more Tyrodin cream or apply it more often than recommended by your doctor.

- If you are allergic to tranexamic acid, kojic acid, arbutin, magnesium, mulberry extract, Vitamin E or any other ingredient of Tyrodin cream.
- If you are taking hormonal contraceptives as a method of birth control (hormonal pills, patches, rings, injections). If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.

How Does It Work?
- Tyrodin cream contains tranexamic acid, kojic acid, arbutin, magnesium, mulberry extract and Vitamin E as active substances.
- Tranexamic acid reduces the hyperpigmentation of the outer layer of skin cells and reverses melasma-related changes of the skin.
- Kojic acid decreases the production of a substance called melanin responsible for skin pigmentation.
- Arbutin prevents the action of a chemical called tyrosinase which is involved in the production of the skin pigmenting substance, melanin.
- Magnesium provides the essential mineral to the skin cells.
- Mulberry extract is an antioxidant that protects against the UVB and UVA rays of sunlight and prevents damage to skin cells after sunlight exposure.
- Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects the cells from the damaging effects of substances called free radicals.

- Since Tyrodin cream is to be used externally on the skin, it is less likely to interact with other medicines.
