T-Minic oral drops is a cough and cold preparation. It is used for temporary relief of common cold and allergic rhinitis in children. It helps in improving symptoms like runny and stuffy nose, sneezing and throat irritation. T-Minic oral drops consists of chlorpheniramine and phenylephrine as active components. Chlorpheniramine is an anti-allergic and phenylephrine is a decongestant.
This medicine should not be used on patients with heart-related problems. Give this medicine to your child in the dose and duration as suggested by the doctor. Do not stop giving this medicine to your child on your own. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor about your child's detailed medical history.
Uses
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to chlorpheniramine or phenylephrine or any of the ingredients of T-Minic oral drops.
- If you have taken medicines for brain disorders such as rasagiline in the last 14 days. If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.
- If you are suffering from high blood pressure or heart disease.
- If you have diabetes or increased pressure inside the eyes (glaucoma).
- If you are suffering from an overactive thyroid gland or breathing problems like bronchitis.
- If you experience difficulty in urination due to an enlarged prostate gland.

Other General Warnings
- Your child is already taking medicines for psychiatric illness.
- Your child is experiencing drowsiness and nervousness after taking this medicine.
- Your child does not show any improvement in symptoms within a week.
- Your child has any pre-existing medical condition such as asthma or any airway obstruction problems, kidney or liver disease, blockage in the stomach and intestine, etc.
- Your child has a history of fits or seizures.
- Your child has a history of tumours in the adrenal gland.
Directions for Use
- Give T-Minic oral drops to your child as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not give this medicine directly from the bottle.
- Do not give more than the dose prescribed.
- Shake well before use.
- Use a measuring cup, spoon, or dropper for the exact quantity.

- Store T-Minic oral drops between 20°- 25°C.
- Keep it away from children and pets.

How Does It Work?
- T-Minic oral drops work by the combined action of its two components - chlorpheniramine and phenylephrine.
- Chlorpheniramine acts by blocking the action of a natural substance called histamine produced by the body during an allergic reaction which produces allergic symptoms like sneezing, watery eyes, and throat irritation.
- Phenylephrine is a vasoconstrictor. It shrinks or constricts the blood vessels in the nasal passage and improves nose blockage.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way T-Minic oral drops work or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals your child is currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Medicines used to treat brain disorders or psychiatric illnesses should not be used with T-Minic oral drops as it can lead to a risk of heart-related side effects or increased blood pressure.
- This medicine can reduce the effectiveness of blood pressure-reducing medicines and can increase blood pressure abruptly.
- T-Minic oral drops should not be taken along with medicines used to treat heart failure such as digoxin as it can increase the risk of irregular heartbeat or heart attack.
- Anti-epileptic medicines like phenytoin and ergot-containing medicines should not be consumed along with T-Minic oral drops, as they can lead to toxicity.
- Other medicines like medicines to induce sleep or anti-anxiety medicines and certain painkillers should be used with caution as they can induce sedation.
