Serentin Tablets
Description
Serentin tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat schizophrenia, Tourette's syndrome, and bipolar disorder. This is a combination of two medicines, trifluoperazine and trihexyphenidyl. Trifluo
perazine belongs to the class of phenothiazines in the category of antipsychotic medications, and trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic medicine. These two components of serentin tablets together work to bring down symptoms of hallucinations, delusions, etc. It is advised to take Serentin tablet at the same time every day. Since this is a prescription medicine, special attention should be given to the dosing schedule. If there is an increase in the dosage, it has the potential to cause a habit-forming action. This medicine should never be taken without consultation with the doctor. Also, it should not be abruptly stopped or discontinued between its course. Some common side effects of serentin tablets are vomiting, nausea, dizziness, confusion, dryness in the mouth, altered tastes due to less saliva, etc. If the side effects cause problems or continue for longer than the expected times, it is best to consult a doctor and look for better alternative medicine.
