Powercort S 3% Lotion is a steroidal medication with a combination of ingredients that helps various skin related issues. Managing the symptoms of psoriasis, severe dermatitis, eczema, etc., are the
uses of Powercort S Lotion. Some of the symptoms of these conditions include eczema (itchy, inflamed and rough patches on the skin), psoriasis (flaky, red patches with white scales), and dermatitis (itchy redness on the skin). This cream consists of clobetasol and salicylic acid as its main ingredients. The mode of action of Powercort S lotion is to block the production of certain chemical messengers that causes swollen, red and itchy skin. It also removes the dead and damaged skin, which lowers flakiness and smoothens the skin. It is not recommended to use this medicine in children younger than 17, without confirming with your doctor. Try to follow the doctor’s directions for using the Powercort S Cream. The dosage and duration of this cream will be advised by the doctor. Try to avoid direct contact with this cream to the eye, nose, ears and mouth. Sometimes the patient may experience itching, burning sensation, irritation, swelling, at the site of application along with other side effects of Powercort S Cream. Do not cover the site of application with a cloth or a bandage unless advised by the doctor.

Uses of Powercort S 3% Lotion 30ml
- As per CDSCO, the Powercort S 3% Lotion is used in,
- Treatment of psoriasis (a skin condition that causes red, itchy, scaly patches, most commonly on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp)
- Treatment of eczema (patches of skin get rough and inflamed with blisters. It causes itching and bleeding)
- Treatment of dermatitis (itchy inflammation of the skin)
Contraindications of Powercort S 3% Lotion 30ml
- If you are allergic to the active or inactive components of Powercort S 3% Lotion.
- If you have various untreated skin infections.
- If you are diagnosed with rosacea (a condition that causes redness and often small, red, pus-filled bumps on the face).
- If you want to use it for acne.
- If you have pruritus or skin itching without inflammation.
- If you have perianal and genital pruritus or itching. This medicine is not recommended for those areas.
- If you have perioral dermatitis (inflammation around the mouth)
- If you have a ruptured eardrum and use this inside the ear.
- If you have broken skin or any open wound on the site of application.
- If you want to cover up the treated area with a cloth or a bandage without consulting your doctor.

- You have accidentally applied Powercort S Lotion directly in the eye. Repeated application may lead to not applying glaucoma or cataract.
- You experience blurred vision or other vision disturbances.
- You experience any redness or swelling of the skin around the mouth or small, pus-filled bumps on the face after applying the Powercort S Lotion.
- You are using Powercort S Lotion on a large surface of the area.
- You have any skin infections
- You have any autoimmune disorders
- You are using different oral or topical steroids
- You have any condition related to adrenal glands.
- Powercort S Lotion should not be given to a child younger than 17 years of age unless advised by the doctor.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Powercort S 3% Lotion 30ml
- Apply the Powercort S Lotion exactly in recommended dose and duration.
- Clean and dry the infected skin before applying Powercort S Lotion.
- Wash your hands before and after applying Powercort S Lotion.
- Apply a thin layer of Powercort S Lotion to the afflicted areas.
- Do not use more than the recommended amount of Powercort S Lotion, as this can lead to an overdose.
- Do not use Powercort S Lotion close to the eyes, inside the nose or mouth. If this happens, wash Powercort S Lotion off with water quickly if that happens.
- Check the expiration date before using Powercort S Lotion.
Interactions of Powercort S 3% Lotion 30ml
Interactions with other medicines
- Powercort S Lotion may interact with medications such as itraconazole or ritonavir, which are metabolised by the body in the same mechanism. Using them together can increase the concentration of these medicines in the body, which can lead to many side effects. It depends on the dose and route of administration....
- Try to avoid using various topical skin products that can sensitise the skin and cause excess irritation, such as harsh soaps, hair removers or waxes, etc., while using Powercort S Lotion. They can cause burning sensation, redness, swelling, itching, flaking, etc....
- While using Powercort S Lotion, do not use skin products that contain alcohol, astringents, spices, or citric fruits in them. They can cause burning sensation, redness, swelling, itching and flaking.
- Avoid using other topical medications on the same areas as Powercort S Lotion topical unless the doctor tells you to.
- If you are using some ayurvedic or herbal products for the treatment of skin infections, inform the doctor as they may interfere with the functioning of Powercort S Lotion.
