Noanxium Fp 0.5 mg tablet is a prescription medication. Managing the symptoms of various psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia is the main use of the Noanxium Fp tablet. It has only a single active ingredient: flupenthixol. It is an antidepressant medication. The mode of action of Noanxium tablets is to alter the action of chemical messengers in the brain, which regulates the mood and helps tackle depression. Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder that changes one’s way of thinking, emotionally reacting and behaving in typical situations. The correct dosage of Noanxium Fp tablet reduces the symptoms of this condition. It is also a mild sedative. The major side effect of Noanxium Fp tablets includes causing heart rhythm disorder, such as QT prolongation. So, consult your doctor if you have been using this medicine for a long time and are experiencing side effects. You must follow your doctor’s directions to use the Noanxium Fp tablet precisely. Uses

  • Aa per CDSCO, Noanxium Fp tablets are used in the following conditions;
  • It is indicated as the maintenance therapy of chronic schizophrenic patients whose main symptoms do not include excitement, agitation or hyperactivity.
  • It is also used in combination with other medication for the management of depression in adult patients who may, or may not, also be showing signs of anxiety.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to flupenthixol or any of the components of this medicine.
  • If you have severe depression and require hospitalisation.
  • If you are using antidepressant medications.
  • If you have severe liver disease.
  • If you have a heart disorder such as arrhythmia (rhythm dysfunction).
  • If you are using the medication, that can cause a change in the heart’s conduction.
  • If you have acute angle glaucoma (an eye condition with high fluid pressure inside the eyes).
  • If you have kidney disease, close monitoring is required.
  • If you have neuroleptic malignant syndrome (a life-threatening reaction to antipsychotic medicines).
  • If you have a known history of addiction or alcohol abuse.
  • Note - Not recommended in children below 18 years of age, as there is not enough data on its safety.

  • It is better to avoid using medicines that change the electric conduction of the heart through anxiety, as the Noanxium Fp medication can interact with them and increase the risk of serious heart conduction problems.
