Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder that changes one’s way of thinking, emotionally reacting and behaving in typical situations. The correct dosage of Noanxium Fp tablet reduces the symptoms of this condition. It is also a mild sedative. The major side effect of Noanxium Fp tablets includes causing heart rhythm disorder, such as QT prolongation. Uses
- Aa per CDSCO, Noanxium Fp tablets are used in the following conditions;
- It is indicated as the maintenance therapy of chronic schizophrenic patients whose main symptoms do not include excitement, agitation or hyperactivity.
- It is also used in combination with other medication for the management of depression in adult patients who may, or may not, also be showing signs of anxiety.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to flupenthixol or any of the components of this medicine.
- If you have severe depression and require hospitalisation.
- If you are using antidepressant medications.
- If you have severe liver disease.
- If you have a heart disorder such as arrhythmia (rhythm dysfunction).
- If you are using the medication, that can cause a change in the heart’s conduction.
- If you have acute angle glaucoma (an eye condition with high fluid pressure inside the eyes).
- If you have kidney disease, close monitoring is required.
- If you have neuroleptic malignant syndrome (a life-threatening reaction to antipsychotic medicines).
- If you have a known history of addiction or alcohol abuse.
- Note - Not recommended in children below 18 years of age, as there is not enough data on its safety.

- Do not take this medicine if its packaging has been already opened.
- Do not stop using this medication abruptly, as it can cause adverse effects from withdrawal.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- If you are under treatment with anti-seizure medication along with Noanxium Fp tablet, it can cause serious side effects and even cause an increase in the frequency of seizures.
- If the Noanxium Fp tablet is used with other antipsychotic medications or sometimes antidepressants, it can increase the effects and worsen the condition.
- If you are using opioid pain relievers (tramadol, codeine), muscle relaxants, cough medicine, and other medicines that cause drowsiness (zolpidem), taking Noanxium Fp tablets with them will increase the severity of sleepiness....
- It is better to avoid using medicines that change the electric conduction of the heart through anxiety, as the Noanxium Fp medication can interact with them and increase the risk of serious heart conduction problems....
- Using Noanxium Fp with lithium can increase the lithium toxicity levels and cause neuroleptic malignant syndrome (a life-threatening reaction to antipsychotic medicines).
