Mupicip 2% Tube Of 15gm Ointment
Description
Mupicip Ointment is a topical antibiotic used to treat bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, boils, cuts, wounds, or minor bacterial infections. It contains mupirocin as the active ingredient, which works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing bacteria and helps the skin heal more quickly. This ointment is not effective against fungal or viral infections.
The medicine works by blocking the proteins bacteria need to survive, which prevents them from multiplying. As the bacteria stop growing, the infection gradually clears up, and the risk of spreading to other areas is reduced.
Mupicip Ointment is for external use only. The affected skin should be washed and dried before applying a thin layer with clean hands or a cotton swab. Hands should be washed after use to prevent the spread of bacteria. The area should not be tightly covered unless directed by a doctor.
Before using this ointment, it is essential to inform your doctor about any allergies, ongoing skin problems, or other medications you are currently taking. It should not be applied to the eyes, nose, or mouth unless prescribed. If irritation, redness, or worsening of symptoms occur, seek medical advice immediately.
The ointment should always be used for the full course prescribed by the doctor, even if the skin starts to improve earlier. Stopping too soon may cause the infection to come back. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before using this medicine. The tube should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from children.
