Medical Description
Mucaryl Ls Syrup is a cough remedy that contains a combination of ambroxol, guaifenesin, and levosalbutamol. It is used to treat productive coughs associated with spasms or constrictions of the airways in conditions such as bronchitis and bronchial asthma. Mucaryl Ls is also used for all conditions linked with thick mucus, wheezing, and chest congestion. It works by relaxing the airway muscles and thinning the mucus, making it easier to expel. This medicine is intended for use in adults and children over 6 years of age. For children, it should be administered under adult supervision. Mucaryl Ls Syrup can be taken with or without food as your doctor prescribes. Your dosage will depend on your condition and response to the medication. Continue taking it as recommended; stopping early may cause symptoms to return or worsen. Inform your healthcare team of all other medications, as some may interact with this medicine. The most common side effects include dizziness, vomiting, alterations in taste, diarrhoea, headaches, and rashes. Most of these are temporary and typically resolve over time. Contact your doctor immediately if you have any concerns regarding these side effects. This medication can also induce sleepiness, so avoid driving or engaging in activities that require mental focus until you understand how this medicine affects you. Refrain from consuming alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can exacerbate sleepiness.
According to the advisory issued by the Union Health Ministry, cough and cold medications should not be prescribed or dispensed to children under two years of age. These medications are generally not recommended for children under five years old. For children above that age, any use should be based on careful clinical evaluation and close supervision.
