Medical Description
Lynx syrup is an oral antibiotic used for certain bacterial infections of the lungs, throat, skin, soft tissues, abdomen, bones, joints, teeth and tissues after surgery. It contains lincomycin, which prevents bacteria from making proteins needed for growth. Without these proteins, susceptible bacteria cannot grow normally or spread through the body. The syrup is measured and taken by mouth on an empty stomach unless your doctor advises otherwise, and it should be used only for the prescribed treatment period.
