Medical Description

injection is used to treat low white blood cell (neutrophil) counts that occur as a side effect of chemotherapy. The main ingredient in this medicine is pegfilgrastim, which increases the number of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell) in the body. It promotes the growth, development, and maturation of these cells and extends the lifespan of mature neutrophils.

Common side effects of this medicine include bone pain, nausea, headaches, pain at the injection site, and general aches in the joints and muscles. Your doctor will routinely test your blood and urine because may damage the small filters in your kidneys (glomerulonephritis).

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have heart disease, liver or kidney problems, or if you are taking any medications to treat infections. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Effective contraception for both males and females during treatment is crucial to avoid pregnancy.
