Loret Tablet is used to treat anxiety. Loret Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called benzodiazepines with lorazepam as its active ingredient. Lorazepam reduces brain activity to produce calmnes
s and relaxation. Loret Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The duration and dose of taking Loret Tablet varies depending on the patient’s condition and age. Loret Tablet has a habit-forming potential and may cause physical dependence (inability to function without medicine) and hence should not be stopped suddenly without consulting your doctor. Loret Tablet may cause minor to serious side effects such as restlessness, aggression and disturbances in sleep. It is recommended to consult your doctor before starting treatment with Loret Tablet and get complete information on its potential side effects and benefits. Functioning of Loret Tablet may change or get affected negatively when taken with grapefruit juice, caffeine and alcohol; therefore must be avoided. How Does It Work?
Loret Tablet contains lorazepam as an active ingredient. Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine and acts by increasing the level of a relaxing chemical called gamma-aminobutyric (GABA) in the brain. GABA calms down the brain's electrical activity, relieves anxiety, and avoids unnecessary thoughts that disturb the mind....
Directions for Use
- Loret Tablet must be taken as per the doctor’s prescription.
- Loret Tablet can be taken with or without food.
- Make sure to swallow the Loret Tablet as a whole and do not chew, crush or break it.
- Loret Tablet must be taken at the same time as per prescription.
- After taking Loret Tablet, if you experience unusual ringing in the ears, problem falling asleep, tingling sensations in hands and feet, suicidal thoughts or any discomfort that doesn’t go away, immediately consult your doctor or visit the nearest hospital....
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Loret Tablet may adversely interact with:
- Painkillers such as Aceclofenac and Aspirin cause toxicity (poisoning) as the excretion of lorazepam decreases.
- Acetaminophen/Paracetamol cause symptoms of an overdose of paracetamol, leading to liver damage.
- Acetazolamide and other benzodiazepines (mind relaxing medicines) produce opposite effects.

Storage and disposal
Loret Tablet must be stored in a dry place, away from sunlight, at room temperature away from the reach of children. It must be disposed of so that it is out of reach of children and cannot be consumed by pets....

Symptoms of an overdose of Loret Tablet can be fatal and include decreased brain activity leading to drowsiness (feeling sleepy) and coma. Overdose may also produce severe symptoms like very low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, coma and even death. Missed a Dose
Loret Tablet must be taken as prescribed by your doctor.
If you have missed a dose of Loret Tablet, take it immediately when you remember it.
However, you should skip a missed dose when enough time has passed, and it is time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose of Loret Tablet to make up for the missed dose. This may lead to overdosing....
