Loret Tablet is used to treat anxiety. Loret Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called benzodiazepines with lorazepam as its active ingredient. Lorazepam reduces brain activity to produce calmnes
s and relaxation. Loret Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The duration and dose of taking Loret Tablet varies depending on the patient’s condition and age. Loret Tablet has a habit-forming potential and may cause physical dependence (inability to function without medicine) and hence should not be stopped suddenly without consulting your doctor. Loret Tablet may cause minor to serious side effects such as restlessness, aggression and disturbances in sleep. It is recommended to consult your doctor before starting treatment with Loret Tablet and get complete information on its potential side effects and benefits. Functioning of Loret Tablet may change or get affected negatively when taken with grapefruit juice, caffeine and alcohol; therefore must be avoided. Loret Tablet may interact and produce life-threatening side effects when taken with certain medications used in anxiety, depression, HIV, Tuberculosis, Parkinson’s, high blood pressure, contraception, asthma, or an infection. Interactions with other medicines
- Loret Tablet may adversely interact with:
- Painkillers such as Aceclofenac and Aspirin cause toxicity (poisoning) as the excretion of lorazepam decreases.
- Acetaminophen/Paracetamol cause symptoms of an overdose of paracetamol, leading to liver damage.
- Acetazolamide and other benzodiazepines (mind relaxing medicines) produce opposite effects.
