Medical Description

Loret Tablet is used to treat anxiety. Loret Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called benzodiazepines with lorazepam as its active ingredient. Lorazepam reduces brain activity to produce calmness and relaxation. Loret Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The duration and dose of taking Loret Tablet varies depending on the patient’s condition and age. Loret Tablet has a habit-forming potential and may cause physical dependence (inability to function without medicine) and hence should not be stopped suddenly without consulting your doctor. Loret Tablet may cause minor to serious side effects such as restlessness, aggression and disturbances in sleep. It is recommended to consult your doctor before starting treatment with Loret Tablet and get complete information on its potential side effects and benefits. Functioning of Loret Tablet may change or get affected negatively when taken with grapefruit juice, caffeine and alcohol; therefore must be avoided. Loret Tablet may interact and produce life-threatening side effects when taken with certain medications used in anxiety, depression, HIV, Tuberculosis, Parkinson’s, high blood pressure, contraception, asthma, or an infection. Therefore it is suggested to talk to your doctor about all medications you are taking or planning to take.

If you’ve known allergy to any of the ingredients present in the medicine. If you’ve severe breathing difficulties or chest problems. If you’ve severe liver disease or a history of any liver disease. If you’re pregnant or planning to be pregnant. If you’ve Myasthenia Gravis (a condition in which the muscles under your control like legs and hand become tired too quickly and feels weak).

Directions for Use

Symptoms of an overdose of Loret Tablet can be fatal and include decreased brain activity leading to drowsiness (feeling sleepy) and coma. Overdose may also produce severe symptoms like very low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, coma and even death. If you happen to take too many Loret Tablets, reach out to your doctor or the nearest hospital immediately.

Missed a Dose

Loret Tablet must be taken as prescribed by your doctor. If you have missed a dose of Loret Tablet, take it immediately when you remember it. However, you should skip a missed dose when enough time has passed, and it is time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose of Loret Tablet to make up for the missed dose. This may lead to overdosing.

  • Acetazolamide and other benzodiazepines (mind relaxing medicines) produce opposite effects.
