Medical Description
Itroderm Oc Cream is used for the treatment of various skin infections. It contains a combination of clobetasol, itraconazole, ofloxacin, and ornidazole as active substances that work by reducing infection, swelling, and irritation. Itroderm Oc should not be used to treat any other skin condition other than that prescribed by your doctor. Itroderm Oc Cream is meant for external application only and should be used exactly as recommended. Before using the Itroderm Oc Cream, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. Itroderm Oc Cream should not be used in children under one year of age.
Uses
Itroderm Oc Cream is used to treat various types of skin infections.
Contraindications
If you are allergic to clobetasol, itraconazole, ofloxacin, ornidazole, or any other ingredient of Itroderm Oc Cream.
If you are allergic to any quinolone antibiotics like ciprofloxacin, nitroimidazole derivatives like metronidazole, or anti-fungal medicines like ketoconazole. If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.
If you have skin conditions like acne, severe flushing of skin on and around your nose (rosacea), or spotty red rash around your mouth (perioral dermatitis).
If you have itching around your anus or genitals.
If you have itchy skin which is not inflamed.
If you are using this medicine to treat skin infections in your child under one year of age.

Talk to your doctor if
- You experience newly developed bone pain or worsening of previous bone
- symptoms.
- You use other oral/topical medication containing corticosteroids or medications to control your immune system like prednisone.
- You had an allergic reaction to another steroid in the past.
- You have HIV/AIDS.
- You have any condition that decreases the amount of acid in your stomach.
- You are applying the Cream under an airtight dressing or to a large skin area.
- You are applying the Cream on broken or damaged skin or within skin folds.
- You have a skin condition called psoriasis.
- You are using the medicine around a chronic leg ulcer.
- You are applying Itroderm Oc Cream near the eyes or on eyelids.
- You are applying the medicine to thin skin such as the face.
- You develop an infection after using Itroderm Oc Cream.
- You notice changes in your vision like blurred vision after using Itroderm Oc Cream.
- You have a condition called cystic fibrosis that causes problems with breathing, digestion, and reproduction.
Directions for Use
- Itroderm Oc Cream is meant for external use only.
- Use it as recommended by your doctor.
- Clean and dry your hands before and after applying the medicine.
- Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area and gently rub into the skin.
- In case your eyes come in contact with Itroderm Oc Cream, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.
Storage and disposal
- Store in a cool and dry place below 25°C away from direct sunlight.
- Keep away from children and pets.
Dosage
Overdose
Itroderm Oc Cream is meant for external application, and hence cases of overdose are unlikely. However, symptoms of overdose include bone weakness, high blood pressure, increased weight, hair loss. Upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital. If you have applied extra quantities of it, wipe out the excess medicine with tissue or cotton.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed applying Itroderm Oc Cream, apply it as soon as possible. If it's time for your next application, then skip the missed application and continue with your regular application schedule. Do not over-apply this medicine to compensate for the missed application.
Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
Itroderm Oc Cream contains clobetasol, itraconazole, ofloxacin, and ornidazole as active substances which work by their combined action.
Clobetasol is a steroid that decreases the production of certain substances in the body that are responsible for inflammation. This helps to reduce swelling and irritation.
Itraconazole is an antifungal agent that works by slowing the growth of the fungi that cause infection.
Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that interferes with the chemicals required for the production of the genetic material of bacteria. This results in the death of infection-causing bacteria.
Ornidazole is an antiprotozoal and antibacterial medicine that causes cell death by destroying the structure of the genetic material of infection-causing organism.

- However, you should always consult your doctor if you are taking other medicines for treating other health conditions.
