Hyalgan 20mg Pre Filled Syringe Of 2ml Injection
Description
Hyalgan injection is a treatment used to provide long-lasting relief from knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. It can help you move more comfortably by reducing stiffness and making daily activities easier. This medicine works best when included as part of an overall treatment plan, which may involve gentle exercise, weight management, and joint care advised by your doctor.
It works by mimicking the natural fluid in your knee joint, which helps bones move smoothly and cushions them during movement. When injected into the knee, it improves lubrication and shock absorption, reduces friction, and helps relieve pain, making it easier for you to walk, climb stairs, and perform other activities.
Some individuals may experience mild side effects such as headache, rash, bruising at the injection site, or itching. These effects are usually temporary, but if they become bothersome or severe, you should inform your doctor. You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to its ingredients or bird proteins, have an infection in the knee, or have skin issues in the area where the injection would be given.
It is important not to administer this injection alongside other joint injections. Additionally, avoid using disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium salts before the injection, as they may cause the medicine to clump and lose effectiveness. Store the medicine below 25°C, away from sunlight, and never freeze it. Keep it out of reach of children and pets, and dispose of any unused medicine properly.
Before treatment, your doctor may remove any swelling in the knee and check for signs of inflammation, such as redness, heat, or severe pain. After the injection, avoid putting excessive strain on the knee for a short period to allow it to heal. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, this medicine should only be used if your doctor believes the benefits outweigh any potential risks. It is not expected to affect your ability to drive or your interaction with alcohol, but always follow your doctor’s advice.
