Medical Description

Hifenac D tablet is used to treat pain associated with arthritis, spondylitis and post-surgery swelling. It contains a combination of three medicines namely aceclofenac, paracetamol and serratiopeptidase as its active ingredients. This medicine has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Some other medicines containing similar compositions are Signoflam tablet, Acemiz S tablet, Zerodol SP and Aceclotrue Sp.

Hifenac D tablet works by inhibiting the release of the chemical substances responsible for causing pain. It should not be used by pregnant women during their third trimester and breastfeeding women. It is advised to take this medicine as advised by your doctor to gain optimal benefits. You should take the Hifenac D with or after meals to avoid stomach upset.

Uses of HIFENAC D STRIP OF 10 TABLETS

Hifenac D tablet is used to provide relief from the pain associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis and post surgeries.

Contraindications of HIFENAC D STRIP OF 10 TABLETS

If you have an allergy to paracetamol, aceclofenac, serratiopeptidase or any of the ingredients of the Hifenac D tablet.
If you had an allergic reaction such as asthma, skin rashes or runny nose after taking medicines like ibuprofen and aspirin.
If you have ever experienced severe allergic reactions.
If you have a history of frequent stomach ulcers or bleeding.
If you are suffering from any heart diseases like heart failure and high blood pressure.
If you have problems with kidney and liver function.
If you are pregnant (especially after the 3rd month of pregnancy).

It is not advised to take the Hifenac D tablet while breastfeeding as there is limited safety data available. Inform your doctor if you are a nursing mother.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed the Hifenac D tablet?

It is advised not to drive or use machines when you have taken Hifenac D tablet as it may cause dizziness.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the Hifenac D tablet?

Aceclofenac and paracetamol act by interfering with the production of a chemical substance called prostaglandin which is responsible for swelling and pain.

A: Yes, you need to discuss any other diseases and medicines which you are taking with your doctor. Your doctor may accordingly change the dosage or he may suggest alternative medicine to you. Excessive use of pain killers has to be avoided as it can result in kidney damage. Also, if you are on this medicine, you may experience low blood glucose symptoms. In case this happens, have something sweet like sugar or juice and report to your doctor.

Q: Can I take my regular painkillers along with Hifenac D?

A: No, it is not safe to take any other medicines to relieve pain along with this medicine. Concomitant use of painkillers can cause adverse effects like gastrointestinal bleeding and liver damage.

Q: I am on Hifenac D for a long time. Do I need to conduct any tests?

A: Hifenac D should not be taken for prolonged periods. In case you are prescribed the same for a longer duration, you may do tests like complete blood count (CBC), liver function test (LFT) and renal function test (RFT).
