Uses
- As per EMA, Etizola Lite 5 mg Tablet is helpful in treating:
- Symptoms of depression, like low energy levels, feeling hopeless, worthless, sad, lack of concentration, and irritation
- Treatment of anxiety that is characterized by excessive stress, worry or tension
- Bipolar disorder (A disorder characterized by mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs)
- Insomnia, short-term management
Contraindications
- If you have an allergy to Etizolam, Escitalopram, other active or inactive components in the formulation
- If you have Epilepsy or are having Electroconvulsive treatment, taking Etizola Lite 5 mg Tablet increases the risk of having seizures
- If you have pre-existing heart arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats)
- If you have neuromuscular conditions like Myasthenia Gravis (A weakness of muscles under voluntary control, where muscles fatigue rapidly and there is more risk of worsening of a patient's symptoms)
- If you are suffering from narrow-angle glaucoma (increased eye pressure), as this medicine can further increase eye pressure
- If you are on antidepressant medicines
- If you have low sodium levels

- It may take up to 2 weeks after starting Etizola Lite 5 mg Tablet, for its effect to begin, and up to 6 weeks for the effects to be visible. Hence, compliance is necessary to continue taking the medicine
- Etizola Lite 5 mg Tablet is associated with the possibility of having thoughts of harming yourself or ending your life, in any such circumstances, immediately consult your doctor
- In diabetic people, blood sugar monitoring is required and accordingly change in anti-diabetic medicines is needed, as this tablet affects blood sugar level
Directions for Use
- Etizola Lite 5 mg Tablet should be taken exactly as your doctor tells you to, and follow the directions on the label. If you have any doubt, check with a pharmacist or a doctor.
- Swallow the tablet as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it
- You can take the tablet at any time of the day if not specified, as long as you take it at the same time every day
- Etizola Lite 5 mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, or as per your doctor's advice

- Antifungals like Ketoconazole
Interactions with food items
- Grapefruit consumption should be avoided as it has increased risk of adverse effects like drowsiness and toxicity with Etizola Lite 5 mg Tablet
