Encorate 200 MG Description
Encorate oral solution is an anti-epileptic medication. It contains sodium valproate as the active substance. Encorate oral solution is used for the management of fits/seizures (epilepsy) in children and adults. It works by helping to calm the brain down. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Shake well before use. It is necessary to use effective contraception at all times during your treatment with Encorate oral solution. Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.

Encorate oral solution is used to manage fits/seizures (epilepsy) in children and adults.
Contraindications of Encorate 200 MG
- If you are allergic to sodium valproate or any of the other ingredients of Encorate oral solution.
- If you are pregnant or a woman capable of becoming pregnant.
- If you have liver problems or you or your family have a history of liver problems, especially if caused by taking medicines.
- If you have a disorder of the urea cycle.
- If you have a condition called porphyria that affects your metabolism.
- You have a genetic problem caused by a mitochondrial disorder.

Pregnancy

Breast Feeding

Driving

- You have a disorder of the pancreas.

- Your symptoms worsen after taking Encorate oral solution.
- You develop suicidal thoughts and ideas of harming yourself after taking this medicine.
- You have a genetic problem caused by a mitochondrial disorder.
- You are diabetic.
- You have a condition called systemic lupus erythematosus.
- You have a urea cycle disorder where too much ammonia builds up in the body.
- You gain weight after using this medicine.
- You drink alcohol often or regularly.
- You have a condition called carnitine palmitoyltransferase (CPT) type II deficiency.
Directions for Use of Encorate 200 MG
- Take the exact amount of Encorate oral solution as recommended by the doctor.
- Shake well before use.
- Preferably take it with or after food.
- Use a measuring cup, spoon or dropper for the exact quantity.
- Do not consume it directly from the bottle.
- Do not take more than the prescribed dose.
Storage and disposal of Encorate 200 MG
- Store Encorate oral solution in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Dosage of Encorate 200 MG
Overdose
- The symptoms of overdose of Encorate oral solution include nausea, vomiting, and dizziness.
- If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
- If you missed any dose of Encorate oral solution, take it as soon as you remember.
- If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
- Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Mode of Action of Encorate 200 MG
How Does It Work?
Encorate oral solution increases the inhibitory effect of a chemical called gamma amino-butyric acid (GABA). This helps to calm down the brain and reduces fits/seizures.
Interactions of Encorate 200 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Encorate oral solution works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Encorate oral solution may increase the effect of medicines such as antipsychotics (used to manage psychosis), MAO inhibitors (used to manage depression and Parkinson's disease), antidepressants (used to manage depressive disorders), and benzodiazepines (used to manage anxiety, seizures, and sleeplessness)....
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for treating mental disorders (olanzapine), fits/seizures (phenobarbital, primidone, phenytoin, felbamate), medicines to help you relax or sleep before and during surgery (propofol), HIV/AIDS (zidovudine, ritonavir), brain damage due to bleeding (nimodipine), brain tumor (temozolomide), malaria (chloroquine), fever and pain (aspirin), blood clots (warfarin), bacterial infections (erythromycin, imipenem), ulcer and acidity (cimetidine), tuberculosis (rifampicin), high cholesterol levels (cholestyramine), and estrogen-containing hormonal contraceptives....
- The use of Encorate oral solution with quetiapine (used to manage bipolar disorder and schizophrenia in children and teenagers) may increase the risk of a reduced number of total white blood cells.
