Uses
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to Triamterene, benzthiazide or any other components of this medicine.
- If you are pregnant or you are a breastfeeding woman.
- If your potassium and calcium levels are high.
- If you are on potassium supplements or blood pressure-lowering medicines like enalapril, captopril.
- If you have progressive kidney diseases with decreased or no urine production.
- If you have progressive liver diseases.
- If you have diabetes complication like diabetic ketoacidosis.
- If you have a disease of the adrenal glands causing weakness, weight loss and a deficiency of hormones in the blood (Addison’s disease).
Side effects
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, thirst, a dry mouth
- Muscle cramps, weakness, dizziness, headache
- A decrease in blood pressure and blood volume

- You have diabetes, liver, pancreas or kidney disease.
- You have predisposed gout that is increased uric acid levels.
- You are on other blood pressure-lowering medicines.
- You are on diabetic medication or have diabetic complications like diabetic nephropathy (a condition in which having high blood glucose levels due to diabetes can damage the part of the kidneys that filters your blood).
- Your urine is fluorescent blue in colour after taking this medicine.
- You can experience rash or sunburn of skin, it is advisable to apply sunscreen to protect your skin.
- You have an abnormal electrolyte level.
Directions for Use
- Ditide Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
- It would be best if you take it at a fixed time for optimal results and you should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

- Store it at temperatures not exceeding 30ºC in a cool and dry place.
- Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

How Does It Work?
- Ditide Tablet is a combination of Triamterene and Benzthiazide.
- Triamterene and Benzthiazide belong to a class of medications called diuretics ('water pills'). They work by reducing the reabsorption of electrolytes from the kidney, thereby eliminating the excess of water and sodium from the body into the urine, but reduces the loss of potassium.
