  • Ketoconazole is an antifungal medicine that works by preventing the formation of a fungal or yeast cell wall component. This leads to the formation of a defective cell wall which ultimately kills the infection-causing fungus or yeast.
  • Tolnaftate is an anti-fungal medicine.
  • Neomycin is an antibacterial medicine that works by stopping the formation of proteins in bacteria. This leads to the death of infection-causing bacteria.
  • Clioquinol/iodochlorhydroxyquin reduces skin infections caused by bacteria. It prevents certain chemicals required in the formation of the genetic material of bacteria resulting in the death of infection-causing bacteria. It is also effective against some fungal skin infections.
  • Clobetasol is a steroid that acts by blocking the production of a natural substance called prostaglandin, which is responsible for itching, swelling and redness.
