Description

Clofen Plus tablet is an analgesic medication for the relief of pain. It contains a combination of three medicines Diclofenac, a Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), Chlorzoxazone, a muscle

relaxant, and Paracetamol which reduces pain and fevers. It is used in treating several types of pain and inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lower back pain, sprain and joint pain. You can take this tablet with or without food. Do not stop the medications abruptly without consulting the doctor. If you observe any severe side effects, inform the doctor immediately. Store the tablet in a cool and dry place away from moisture.

Can I take Clofen Plus tablets during pregnancy?

You should avoid taking Clofen Plus tablets during pregnancy as it may adversely affect foetal development. Unless the benefits outweigh the potential risk to the foetus, this tablet should be avoided.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Clofen Plus tablets while breastfeeding?

Paracetamol and aceclofenac are excreted in breast milk in a small amount; however, the risk associated with that exposure to the fetus cannot be excluded. Therefore only take this medicine if prescribed and considered safe by the doctor.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Clofen Plus tablets?

Undesirable effects like dizziness, fatigue, etc., may occur after this medication; therefore, avoid driving or using heavy machinery if these symptoms are seen.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Clofen Plus tablets?

Aceclofenac can cause dizziness, drowsiness, and vertigo. Hence caution is advised when consuming alcohol.

Mode of Action of Clofen Plus Strip Of 10 Tablets

How Does It Work?

Aceclofenac stops the synthesis of prostaglandin, a marker of inflammation. Paracetamol helps to reduce fevers. Chlorzoxazone acts on the spinal cord to relieve the muscle spasm.

Directions for Use of Clofen Plus Strip Of 10 Tablets

Clofen Plus tablets are to be taken orally as directed by the physician.

Interactions of Clofen Plus Strip Of 10 Tablets

Interactions with other medicines

Effect of Warfarin and Coumarin is increased with prolonged use of paracetamol and increased risk of bleeding
Metoclopramide may increase the action of paracetamol
Domperidone may increase the action of absorption of paracetamol
Colestyramine reduces absorption if given within one hour of paracetamol
Aceclofenac may increase plasma levels of lithium
Aceclofenac may increase plasma levels of digoxin
Beta-blockers and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors may decrease the effects of NSAIDs
The use of potassium-sparing diuretics, ciclosporin, tacrolimus or trimethoprim can cause increased levels of potassium
Aceclofenac and anticoagulants can increase the risk of bleeding
Aceclofenac and other NSAIDs can increase the risk of bleeding
Methotrexate can lead to toxicity quinolones and NSAIDs can lead to convulsions
Cardiac glycosides and NSAIDs can cause heart and kidney dysfunction

Other general Interactions

NSAIDs should not be used for 8-12 days after giving mifepristone as it can reduce the effect of mifepristone.

Store at room temperature between 20 to 25° C
Protect from light and moisture
Keep away from children
Keep the medication away from the reach of children and pets
Do not flush the expired or unneeded tablets or throw them in household waste; instead, talk to your pharmacist regarding the safe way to discard them
