Uses
- As per CDSCO and USFDA, Axepta tablet is used for the following:
- Treatment of ADHD
Contraindications
- It is contraindicated in the following cases:
- If you have allergic to components present in the Axepta tablet
- If you are taking medicines like-Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) and antipsychotic medications or using other anti-anxiety or sedative medicines
- If you have narrow-angle glaucoma (increases the fluid pressure in the eyes)
- If you have an adrenal gland tumour(pheochromocytoma)
- If you have heart disease or any blood vessel condition
- If you have any urinary retention problems
Side effects
- Side effects of Axepta tablet include the following:
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Sweating
- Loss of appetite
- Constipation
- Sleeping problems

- You have any allergic reactions after taking the Axepta tablet.
- You are experiencing sudden mood changes, suicidal or self-harming thoughts.
- You have a history of high blood pressure.
- You have a severe liver condition.
- You notice any allergic reaction.
- Your condition does not improve or worsen after taking this tablet.
- You are planning to get pregnant.
- You are currently using ayurvedic/herbal medicine and supplements. Some of them may cause side effects with this medicine.
Directions for Use
- Take the Axepta tablet as per the doctor’s instruction.
- Take an Axepta tablet with or without consuming food or as prescribed, regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
- Take an Axepta tablet as a whole orally with water. Do not crush the tablet or chew this medicine.
- Do not increase the dosage of Axepta tablet, even if you cannot feel its effects.
- Do not take an Axepta tablet with other medications without informing your doctor.

- Overdose of Axepta tablet can cause symptoms like drowsiness, dizziness, stomach problems, tremors, palpitation, abnormal heartbeat and unusual behaviour. If you are experiencing any of these overdose symptoms, seek emergency medical treatment immediately from a hospital close to you.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Tell your doctor about all prescription and non-prescription medications you plan to take as there is a chance of medicine interaction. Many medicines can interact with the Axepta tablet, making it less effective or increasing side effects. This includes-
- Axepta tablet interaction with MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) like Selegiline, Rasagiline, Isocarboxazid, and other antidepressants, lithium, triptans, buspirone, amphetamines, tramadol, tryptophan, may cause serotonin syndrome, and these medicines should not be used concomitantly.
- Axepta tablet interaction with antihistamines (allergy medicines), pain killers, such as morphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, hydrocodone, tramadol, codeine, sleeping pills, etc., can increase drowsiness and fatigue.
- Axepta tablets may interact with heart medicine, malarial medicine, or some antibiotics that can cause severe side effects.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid caffeine-containing diets like chocolate, tea, coffee, grapefruit and its juice.
