Sumatriptan is used to treat acute migraine attacks, with or without symptoms such as nausea and sensitivity to light. This medicine works by narrowing swollen blood vessels in the head, which helps relieve migraine pain and related discomfort. It should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor and is not meant for preventing migraines. This medicine is not suitable for people with certain conditions like heart problems, stroke, epilepsy, or allergy to sumatriptan, so always inform your doctor about your medical history and other medicines you are taking. How Does It Work?

Dosage
Missed a Dose
Take medicine as soon as you realise, in case you have missed a dose. However, skip the missed dose and take the current dose if it is time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at a time.
