Nepafenac is a nonsteroidal medicine used to reduce pain & inflammation in the
eyes.
Uses of Nepafenac
- This medicine reduces swelling of backside of eye after cataract surgery in diabetic patients
- This medicine is used to reduce pain and swelling after cataract surgery

When should one not use Nepafenac
Do not take Nepafenac if you are allergic to it or other non-steroidal medicine.

Mode of Action of Nepafenac
How Does It Work?
It works by preventing the pain & inflammation (redness & swelling) in the eyes by blocking an enzyme called cyclo-oxygenase.

Warfarin, medicines use in glaucoma, any non-steroidal medicines.
Interactions with food items
No interactions with food for this ophthalmic medicine have been reported.
Dosage of Nepafenac
Overdose
If you use too much Nepafenac for a long duration, it may result in epithelial breakdown, corneal thinning, corneal erosion, corneal ulceration or corneal perforation. These side effects may lead to blindness. Healing may also slow down. Patients should immediately discontinue use of this medicine and should be monitored closely for corneal health. No toxic effects from accidentally swallowing this medicine have been reported. Consult your doctor if you suspect an overdose....
