Tetraxim Pre Filled Syringe Of 0.5ml Suspension For Injection
Description
Tetraxim is a combination vaccine that provides protection against four serious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and poliomyelitis (polio). It is commonly used in pediatric immunization programs to ensure that children develop essential immunity.
Tetraxim contains inactivated components of the bacteria and viruses responsible for these diseases. When administered, it stimulates the immune system to create antibodies, which helps protect against future infections without causing the actual diseases.
Tetraxim vaccine must be given by healthcare professionals; self-administration at home is not recommended. To fully benefit from the vaccine, it is important to receive the complete dosage.
Tetraxim is administered according to the recommended vaccination schedule. Babies receive three doses at 2, 3, and 4 months of age. A booster dose is given around 16 to 18 months, with another booster recommended between the ages of 5 and 13 years. For the initial doses, Tetraxim may also be combined with the Hib vaccine before administration to your child.
Before the injection, inform your child's doctor about any medical conditions your child may have. Let the doctor know if your child is taking any other medications. Always consult healthcare providers for detailed vaccination schedules and personalized advice.
