Uses
- Treatment of bacterial eye infection
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to chloramphenicol, hydrocortisone, or any of the ingredients of Polydex Eye Ointment
- If you have a viral eye infection such as herpes simplex, unless your doctor advises use
- If you have a fungal eye infection
- If you have untreated tuberculosis affecting the eye
- If you have thinning or injury of the eye surface (cornea) without medical advice
- If you are advised by your doctor not to use steroid-containing eye medicines

- You have had a history of laser treatment in the last 6 months
Directions for Use
- Polydex Eye Ointment is for external use only
- Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine in the lower eyelid
- Check the label for directions for use
- Do not touch the tip of the tube

- Overdose of Polydex Eye Ointment is unlikely as it is an eye medication. However, upon accidental ingestion of the contents of this medication, side effects may be seen, but it does not produce any life-threatening situations, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
