Paxitor Cr 25 MG Description

Paxitor Cr tablets are most commonly used for the treatment of major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders and panic disorders. Obsessive-compulsive disorder is characterised by irrational thoug

hts and fears that lead to compulsive behaviours. Paxitor Cr tablet is composed of paroxetine. Paxitor Cr tablet is a prescription medicine, and it is to be taken exactly as suggested by the physician. Do not take in more than prescribed amounts. Consult your physician immediately if you experience any side effects, worsening of your condition, or allergic side effects. Don't give the medicine to anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms or condition as you. Also, report your doctor about your medical history and if you are taking any new medicines to avoid any drug interactions. Don't stop taking the medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it can cause withdrawal effects like worsening your condition.

  • If you have paroxetine hypersensitivity or an allergy to any other ingredients present in Paxitor Cr tablets.

There have been reports of seizures, temperature instability, feeding difficulty, vomiting, hypoglycaemia, tremor, irritability, lethargy, constant crying, somnolence and difficulty in sleeping associated with the use of Paxitor Cr tablets during the first trimester. However, consult your doctor for evaluating potential risks and benefits before using the medicine.

Interactions with other medicines

  • To avoid undesirable side effects of drug interaction, inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you are currently taking.
  • Paxitor Cr tablet can cause adverse reactions when taken with the following medicines:
  • Interaction with other Monoamine oxidase Inhibitors like triptans, tramadol, linezolid, methylthioninium chloride (methylene blue), lithium, pethidine can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.
  • Interaction with mivacurium & suxamethonium may reduce plasma cholinesterase activity resulting in a prolongation of the neuromuscular blocking action.
  • Interaction with pravastatin may lead to an increase in blood glucose levels.
  • Interaction with thioridazine & pimozide increases the risk of QT interval prolongation leading to changes in heart rhythm.

A: Paxitor Cr tablets should be used with caution. In short-term studies, it increases the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviours in pediatric and young adult patients. Therefore, closely monitor all antidepressant-treated patients for clinical worsening and the emergence of suicidal thoughts and behaviours.

Q: Can you take Paxitor Cr tablets if you feel well?

A: No. You shouldn’t stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well. It can cause withdrawal symptoms like dizziness, sensory disturbances, sleep disturbances, agitation or anxiety, nausea, tremor, confusion, sweating, headache, diarrhoea, irritability and visual disturbances. If you stop the treatment too early, the symptoms may return.

Q: For how long should you be taking Paxitor Cr tablets?

A: Your doctor will tell you how long to take Paxitor Cr tablets. You should not stop using Paxitor Cr tablets unless your doctor has told you to. Even though this medicine is not addictive, you should not take it for more than the prescribed amount of time.
