Paroxee Plus tablet is a prescription medication used to manage panic attacks, depression and mood disorders. It is composed of two active ingredients: paroxetine and clonazepam. The mode of action of the Paroxee plus tablet is to increase the amount of serotonin, a chemical substance that improves mood. It also works by reducing the abnormal activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
Reducing the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the symptoms of various mood disorders such as the feeling of sadness, loss of interest, anger, panic attacks, loneliness, etc., are some of the uses of Paroxee Plus tablets. The symptoms and intensity of these disorders vary from person to person. Dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, etc., are some common side effects of Paroxee Plus tablets.
Try to follow your doctor's directions for using Paroxee Plus tablets. This medicine should be used exactly in the prescribed dose and duration. This medicine may cause physical dependence if used for a long duration or in people who have a history of addiction.
Inform your complete medical history and current treatments to your doctor, as Paroxee Plus tablets can not be used in certain conditions.

- The Paroxee Plus tablets are used in the following conditions

Contraindications
- If you have allergies to any components of the Paroxee Plus tablet
- If you have a previous history of alcohol or recreational drug addiction.
- If you are already using another antidepressant, anti-anxiety or sedatives, as they can interfere and cause adverse reactions.
- If you are pregnant or planning to conceive.
- If you are breastfeeding.
- If you have an acute eye disorder like narrow-angle glaucoma.
- If you have liver disease.
- If you have bleeding issues or you are on a blood thinner. Paroxee Plus tablets can increase bleeding.
- If you have any heart condition.
- Note - Not recommended for children below 18 years of age.

Talk to your doctor if
- You have to use any medications like painkillers that cause sedation or tranquillisation.
- You have any trouble breathing.
- You have kidney-related issues. You may need dose adjustments.

- You have to use herbal medicines or supplements.
- You are experiencing these side effects persistently.
- Note: The effects of this medicine are exaggerated in older patients, so use it with caution. Generally, side effects do not need any medical treatment if taken as prescribed.
Directions for Use
- Take the Paroxee Plus tablet in the advised dosage and at the same time every day.
- You can take Paroxee Plus tablets with or without consuming food.
- Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water without breaking or chewing it.
- It is better not to take it with other medicines without notifying your doctor.
- Do not suddenly stop taking the Paroxee Plus tablet, as it can have adverse effects.
- Try not to exceed the dosage, even if you cannot feel any changes.
Storage and disposal
Store Paroxee Plus tablet in dry conditions and over 25 degrees Celsius. Keep these tablets away from wet surfaces, direct sunlight, and humid conditions. Store Paroxee Plus tablets away from children and pets.
Throw away the tablet's packaging after using it. It is better to check the expiration date before taking the tablet. Do not use the Paroxee Plus tablet if it's past the expiration date.
Dosage
Overdose
Paroxee Plus tablet overdose can cause dizziness, muscle shaking, tremors, agitation, convulsion, nausea, vomiting, and electrolyte imbalance. If you overdose on the Paroxee Plus tablet and experience any of these symptoms, immediately seek emergency medical treatment from a hospital.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed a dose of the Paroxee Plus tablet, take it as soon as possible. If you recall missing a dose of this medicine when it's already time to take the next tablet, skip the missed dose and take the next Paroxee Plus tablet.
Consult your doctor if you have any confusion about the dosage or if you missed more than a few doses. Do not take both tablets together as it can cause some unwanted effects.

How Does It Work?
The Paroxee Plus tablet has paroxetine and clonazepam.
Paroxetine increases serotonin levels in the brain by stopping its reuptake by nerve cells. Serotonin is a chemical messenger responsible for stabilising mood, causing happy feelings, etc. It can also aid in sleeping, eating, and digestion.
Clonazepam belongs to the class of benzodiazepine medicines. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger in the brain known as GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid). It reduces the abnormal or excessive activity of nerve cells in the brain. It is responsible for its sedation properties.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Do not use other anti-anxiety and mood disorder medications and medications like linezolid, moclobemide, selegiline, etc., along with this medicine. It can cause severe reactions similar to an overdose of the Paroxee Plus tablet.
- Using opiates or narcotic pain relievers such as codeine and tramadol with Paroxee Plus tablets can increase the side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, etc.
- If you are using Anti-epileptic medicines for seizure disorders (fits) such as phenytoin, notify your doctor as Paroxee Plus tablets can increase the effects of these medications.
- Certain anti-depression medications such as MAO inhibitors and Paroxee Plus tablets should not be used within 14 days. It can lead to severe reactions.
Interactions with food items
- Try to avoid eating grapefruit or drinking its juice. It can increase the level of the Paroxee Plus tablet in the blood.
- Limit having coffee or caffeine-containing products such as cola, energy drinks, excessive chocolate, etc. The effects of caffeine can reduce the calming effects of Paroxee Plus tablets.
