Medical Description

Ezolent 0.25mg Tablet is a prescription medicine that belongs to the class of antianxiety medicines or anxiolytics. Etizolam is the active ingredient in Ezolent 0.25mg Tablet. It aids in the treatment of short-term anxiety and insomnia (sleeplessness). Etizolam is a derivative of benzodiazepines or tranquillisers. Anxiety disorders are a group of mental illnesses causing excessive stress and fear. These may interfere with your daily activities leading to stress, panic attacks, nervousness, etc. Etizolam blocks the chemicals causing anxiety and thus, helps you to calm down. Its effect is observed in 30-60 minutes of administration. Ezolent 0.25mg Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. It must be taken regularly as directed by your physician. The sudden stoppage of the medicine is not advised as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms, although the habit-forming potential of this medicine is less when compared to other benzodiazepines. Withdrawal symptoms may include tremors, confusion, and panic attacks. Some of the side effects like drowsiness, sedation, lowered blood pressure, headache, etc., must be observed.

Etizolam acts on the benzodiazepine site of the GABA-A receptor as an agonist to increase inhibitory GABAergic transmission throughout the central nervous system. Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) is the inhibitory neurotransmitter between the neurons. Enhancing the effects of GABA, thus, lowers the activity by helping in slowing down the transmission of information across the neurons, thus helping in relieving the symptoms related to anxiety, depression, panic attacks, etc.
