Description

Tab Codin 30mg comes under the therapeutic classification of Opioid Analgesics. It is composed of 30 MG of Codeine phosphate. It is used as an analgesic to relieve cough and the symptomatic treatment

of Chronic Diarrhoea. It is indicated in patients older than 12 years. It is used for relieving acute moderate pain, which cannot be reduced by other analgesics like ibuprofen or paracetamol alone. Tab Codin 30 is known to have medicine dependence even at therapeutic doses. Additional support and monitoring should be maintained to avoid the risk of medication misuse. Codin 30 Tab also exhibits drug tolerance properties. Chronic use of this medication will make the treatment less effective for the patient and ask to increase the dosage to obtain the initial level of pain control. They also try to reduce the pain by taking additional supplements. Care should be taken in such conditions. Dosage should be taken as prescribed by the doctor. Overdosage may result in serious complications. The need for analgesics should be reviewed regularly by your doctor. The dosage will be tapered gradually to minimise the withdrawal symptoms. Tapering from a higher dosage may take weeks to months.

Codin 30 Tab is a category C risk pregnancy drug. Studies have shown that it leads to harmful effects on the baby. Neonatal infants can experience Neonatal withdrawal syndrome. So it is not advisable to take this medicine during pregnancy. However, consult your doctor for advice.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Codin 30 Tab while breastfeeding?

It is not recommended while breastfeeding. It can be secreted in breast milk and may cause respiratory depression in the infant. Symptoms of opioid toxicity can be fatal in infants. Consult your doctor for advice.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Codin 30 Tab?

Codin 30 Tab can affect your ability to drive. It can impair the mental or physical abilities of such hazardous tasks. It can cause effects like confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations, blurred visions, which can be very dangerous while driving. So it isn’t advisable to drive if you are under this medication.

No. It isn’t recommended to consume alcohol with Codin 30 Tab. It can cause additive depressant effects.

Directions for Use of Codin 30 MG

Take Codin 30 Tab as prescribed and directed by your doctor.
Can be taken with or without food.
It is available in the form of capsules, tablets, and liquid.
It should be taken orally.
Shake the solution before each use for even distribution of the medication. Use a measuring cup or spoon that comes with the medicine instead of household spoons.
