Casirivimab+Imdevimab

Description

Casirivimab and imdevimab is a combination of two monoclonal antibodies. It is

used for the treatment of confirmed cases of mild to moderate COVID-19 disease in individuals over 12 years of age (weighing at least 40 kg) who are at high risk of developing severe COVID-19 disease and do not require oxygen. High risk is defined as patients over 60 years of age, obesity, existing heart, lung, kidney and liver condition, diabetes, asthma, cancer, HIV, immunocompromised state, someone who has undergone organ transplant and are on medicine that can weaken/suppress the immune system. The use of this medicine should be based on the treating physician's discretion after careful assessment of the condition for an individual patient. This comes as an injection that is given/administered by a healthcare professional either via the intravenous route (takes about 20 to 30 minutes) or subcutaneous route at four different sites on the abdomen or thigh.
