Description
Vicox Tablet is a prescription medicine. It is used in the treatment of Tuberculosis. It contains four major components, isoniazid (INH), ethambutol, rifampicin, and pyrazinamide (PZA). These chemica
l salts work in a synchronised manner to give maximum efficiency of the medicine against the symptoms of tuberculosis. Always take this medicine at the same time every day. Take it on an empty stomach in the amount and schedule as prescribed by the doctor. Do not take Vicox Tablet with alcohol. Inform your doctor if you are suffering from some other disease or condition or take any other medication before starting with this Anti-tubercular medicine. Eat a healthy and balanced diet to reduce the side effects and nausea. The side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, visual disturbances, change in colour of urine, etc. These symptoms usually go away after some time but talk to your doctor if they persist for longer than usual. Do not stop the medicine abruptly or in between the course, even if you start to feel better. Otherwise, your body would become resistant to this medicine and the bacteria that cause Tuberculosis.

Contraindications
- It is not advised to take Vicox Tablet if you are suffering from the following diseases or conditions:
- Allergy to isoniazid,
- Previous history of medication of any of the four chemical salts- isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol, and pyrazinamide,
- Hepatitis (liver disease),
- Pregnancy,
- AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome),
- Jaundice (a condition where there is a yellowish pigmentation of the skin and white areas of the eyes),
- Gout (a condition in which there is swelling of joints because of excessive uric acid in the body),
- Hepatotoxicity (a condition where there is inflammation of the liver),
- Diabetes mellitus,
- Obesity.

- Antibiotics like erythromycin -interactions may cause abrupt rashes and allergies. It can even enhance nausea and vomiting.
- Antifungal medicines like fluconazole- interactions can cause decreased effectiveness of both medicines.
- Antiretroviral medicines like abacavir- interactions between them are highly not recommended because they can induce severe visual impairments, restlessness, and confusion.
- Medicines for kidney diseases like isoniazid, prednisolone, etc can decrease the efficiency of Vicox Tablet and also make tuberculosis causing bacteria resistant to the medicine.
- It is also advised to inform your doctor if you are taking any other form of medicine like homoeopathic or any alternative form of medicine- supplements or ayurvedic. Any unknown interactions can be disturbing and may even be fatal, if not treated or managed in due time....
