Uses
- Paxonil 12.5 mg tablet is used to treat, regulate, prevent, and improve the symptoms of the diseases listed below.
- Depression
- Panic disorders
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD, a disorder causing unwanted and obsessive thoughts that lead you to perform repetitive behaviours)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD, anxiety caused after experiencing a traumatic event)
- Social Anxiety Disorder (an extreme fear of being watched or judged by others in social situations)
- Generalised Anxiety Disorder
- Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMS, severe depression symptoms, irritability, and tension before menstruation).
- Seizure disorders
Contraindications
- If you have any of the following conditions, you should not take Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets:
- Concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) to treat depression
- Acute narrow-angle glaucoma
- Hypersensitivity to clonazepam, paroxetine or any other component of Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets
- Liver disease
- Kidney disease
- Bipolar Disorder
- Heart disease

- Serious side effects of Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets include:
- Heartburn
- Seizure
- Vision problems
- Decreased appetite
- Difficulty urinating
- Abdomen pain
- Inappropriate behaviour
- Restlessness or irritability
- Black (tar) coloured stools
- Bloody or red-coloured vomit
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Breathlessness
- Chills
- Cough
- Nasal congestion
- Throat soreness
- Difficulty sleeping
- Difficulty concentrating
- Weakness (generalised)
- Rare side effects of Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets include:
- Dilated pupils and sensitivity to light
- Loss of coordination
- Loose motion

Other General Warnings
- You have suicidal ideas and actions while taking this medication.
- You have disturbances of bleeding. Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets can induce bruising and bleeding that is unexpected. As a result, if you have severe active bleeding or a hemorrhagic diathesis (tendency to bleed easily), this medicine should be used with caution.
- You have epilepsy. If you experience seizures, Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets should be used with caution as it may worsen your condition.
- You have episodes of mania. Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets may cause or ignite mania in some people..
- You have hyponatremia. This is a condition in which the salt content in the blood is abnormally low. In some circumstances, Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets may cause hyponatraemia. This danger is particularly significant in the elderly, those who are volume-depleted (have less fluid in their bodies) or taking diuretics.
- You have bone fractures. Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets should be used cautiously if you have low bone mineral density, as it may induce fractures. If you have unexplained bone pain, tenderness, swelling, or bruising, tell your doctor.
- You have sexual dysfunction. Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets can induce sexual dysfunction such as diminished sexual desire, delayed ejaculation, and erectile dysfunction.
- You are a child under 18 years of age. Safety and efficacy of Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets have not been clinically demonstrated on children.
- You are an older adult. Due to the increased potential of side effects, Paxonil 12.5 mg Tablet should be used with great caution in the elderly.
Directions for Use
- The dosage and duration of the Paxonil 12.5 mg tablet is prescribed by your doctor. Paxonil 12.5 mg tablets can be taken with or without food. However, it is recommended to take it after meals to prevent nausea. Swallow the entire tablet with a glass of water. Do not crush, bite or break. It is advised to take a tablet daily at a fixed time.
- Withdrawal symptoms may occur if you stop taking Paxonil 12.5 mg suddenly without seeing your doctor. If you notice any changes in your behaviour or have thoughts of harming yourself, see your doctor at once.
