Tel-Cad 40 tablet is an antihypertensive medicine. It is used to treat Hypertension and other heart problems (heart failure). Tel-Cad 40 tablet contains telmisartan as its active ingredient that acts by relaxing the blood vessels and leads to lower blood pressure.
High blood pressure is a critical health condition if not treated well can lead to other health-related complications and affect other parts of the body such as the brain, heart, blood vessels and kidneys. Thus, it is recommended that along with taking Tel-Cad 40 on time, you should also incorporate certain lifestyle modifications. A few of these changes include eating a diet that is low in fat and salt, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising for 30 mins every day, not smoking and limiting alcohol consumption.
Tel-Cad 40 tablet works by blocking the action of certain natural substances responsible for the narrowing of blood vessels. This helps reduce pressure inside blood vessels and allows the heart to pump efficiently. The dose, frequency and duration of the treatment will be decided by your doctor, take this medicine regularly.
While taking this medicine, you should be cautious of your diet and should also exercise regularly. It should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. - If you have blockage of any duct that carries bile from the liver to gallbladder (obstructive biliary disorders)
- If you are in the second or third trimesters of pregnancy

- You are known to have narrowing or blockage of the blood vessels of one or both kidneys.
- You develop diarrhea, vomiting. This dehydration can result in low blood pressure. Have an adequate amount of water and fluids.
- You are suffering from water and salt retention in the body along with an imbalance of various blood minerals (raised aldosterone levels).

- Tel-Cad 40 tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
- Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- It can be taken with or without food.
- It would be best if you took it at the same time every day for optimal results.
- You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.
